About this property

Welcome to Seven Hills Inn

Situated in a Victorian manor house set on 27 acres of landscaped gardens and lawn, Seven Hills Inn offers a bed-and-breakfast experience with a refined, historic charm. The property features an outdoor pool and provides a peaceful retreat with access to thoughtfully maintained grounds. Guests can enjoy amenities such as free Wi-Fi, complimentary breakfast, free parking, and air conditioning, while the inn maintains a smoke-free environment and welcomes pets.

The inn’s location places it less than a mile from The Mount, Edith Wharton's Home, and about two miles from Ventfort Hall Mansion and the Gilded Age Museum, making it a convenient base for cultural and historic exploration. Nearby attractions also include Naumkeag, another notable historic estate popular for tours and picnics. Highway 7 is within close reach, providing easy access to surrounding areas.

Guest feedback reflects a mix of experiences, with many appreciating the character-filled accommodations, friendly staff, and the tranquil setting. Some guests note the historic nature of the property means it lacks certain modern conveniences found in larger hotels, and ongoing upgrades are in progress. Cleanliness, comfortable beds, and a generous breakfast are commonly praised, though a handful of reviews mention limited front desk availability and the absence of on-site dining options.

Seven Hills Inn is suitable for visitors seeking a cozy, historic inn with a distinct atmosphere rather than a full-service resort. It can appeal to those interested in Berkshire’s cultural sites and those looking for a quiet place to unwind surrounded by gardens and nature. Proximity to several well-rated hotels provides alternatives for travelers desiring different lodging styles.

Beautiful old house on a gorgeous property! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I only stayed one night but the room was clean and easily accessible. Water pressure in the shower was surprisingly good for the age of the property. Breakfast was available in the morning and had a large variety of food!

We stayed in the suite and it was beautiful! Lots of historic character and details preserved but with some modern updates. It could use some more updating/repairs but nothing that made us uncomfortable. The complimentary breakfast was great and the common rooms to eat it in were beautiful. Access to the bikes was fun, though the road is a bit busy so we didn’t use them as much as I had anticipated. All in all, don’t expect a chain hotel experience. It’s more like a bed and breakfast, but a great one for the price.

I am confused by all the negative refuses - my family and I had a wonderful stay at Seven Hills this weekend. My sense is that the Inn went through a rough patch during the pandemic (as many restaurants and hotels did) but they seem to have recovered well. My husband and I stayed in the Carriage House and my Mom stayed in the Terrace House. Both rooms were very clean and the beds were super comfortable. Staff was friendly and attentive to our needs, we never felt neglected. This is a historic mansion and you are not going to have all the amenities you get at a 5 star resort - there are plenty of other places to stay in the area if you’re after that experience. That being said, if you’re looking to stay at cozy, charming inn with a lot of character, beautifully decorated and well located in the Berkshires than don’t hesitate to book a room at Seven Hills. And don’t miss the Mount which is walking distance from the Inn. We will definitely be back!

Loved staying at this place! It’s just what I needed. Taking a couple of days out to relax in this peaceful well kept place was ideal! Bike are free to use on sites which we used both days to go into town and get food and ice cream The staff were friendly and went out of there way to be helpful asking of our wants and needs and if we have any questions about the local area. They mentioned the the whole place is to be upgraded, new pool, inside and activities. I think this place is great and the most peaceful and pleasant place I’ve stayed in the states. I highly recommend Seven Hills Inn

My stay at 7 Hills was magical! Beautiful grounds and gracious, accommodating staff!!! Beautiful music room, parlor with a Mason and Hamlin Grand Piano, and fireplace. The people I met were a joy and we all shared music together. It's nice to go back in time and enjoy this historic site.

Very nice hotel, we stayed in the main house which I’ve heard is better rated. The room was adequate and the staff was very friendly. There were a few times we tried calling the front desk but nobody was there to answer and even a few times we stopped down at the front desk before 6pm but it was empty. I believe because the limited staff were helping guests around the hotel. We were looking forward to the food service that is usually offered and highly rated at the inn but it is not currently available, just continental breakfast. Very nice of them to offer that to the guests for free. Pool was nice but needed to be vacuumed. I think when COVID is over we will book another stay and I hope update my review to 5 stars.

My husband and I were guests here for my birthday weekend (checking in Sat, checking out Sun) and it was a surprise for me. We live in CT about 1.5 hrs. away. I’ve read some of the reviews and will share our experience: The Inn has three main buildings - the main historic mansion, a smaller carriage house to the right, and to the left a separate motel-styled 2-story building called the Terrace House. If someone thought their room was in the main historic manor and ended up in Terrace House, I could see how they would think it was a “bait and switch” upon arrival. I do agree that the welcome at check-in was not as hospitable as it could have been - very functional greeting and when we asked about the hiking trails the inn had featured, the young woman said she had no idea about any of them and couldn’t give us any advice because she lived a town over. - - BUT - - We had a lovely time. We were in room 106 of the Terrace House and my hubby said it was exactly as advertised. It was clean, the bathroom and linens were fresh, and the air conditioning was on full blast when we entered. We didn’t mind the noise of the window unit because it insulated us - we heard not a sound from outside. We did not come up to the Berkshires, however to stay in the room - it’s too beautiful out. But when we were in our room, we were satisfied. The general area doesn’t have good cellular service, but the Inn had strong wifi. The grounds are beautiful and you have the opportunity to build your own fire pit at night, which we did when we returned from dinner and it was the most peaceful experience before heading in for the night. While we didn’t use the pool, we saw it being cleaned/maintained and we saw other guests using it. The Inn was packed this weekend and there was a nice bustle at breakfast time in the main manor. A previous reviewer said the breakfast was basic, but that was not our experience - it was Continental (no hot items) but there was a hearty selection. We had gone out to dinner at Firefly Gastro Pub, 10 minutes away and the food/cocktails were fabulous. Would highly recommend. We would encourage people to give Seven Hills Inn a chance. I’ve included photos as well.

What a beautiful historical inn with lovely grounds and great location in Lenox. Our room was a renovated motel-type room. Nice wood floors and newer furniture and bathroom fixtures. Bed was comfortable. Room ac was so/so - didn’t seem to make any difference unless it was set super low. Breakfast was a complete typical hotel buffet yogurt, oatmeal, toast..etc. Coffee machine in the room and coffee was OK - would have been nice to have liquid creamer stored in the fridge that was in the room or a tea option. Check in and front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful.
